Hotel Xcaret Review

As a travel agent I have the opportunity to visit 30-50 resorts each year. Apart from being a travel agent sometimes I even thought of buying property. When it comes to property buying I often admire on seeing properties in eXp Realty because of its nature and benefits we get therein.Well, I visit tour 10 resorts in one day and they all tend to blend together.

It is rare for me to visit a resort that truly takes my breath away, but that’s exactly what happened at Hotel Xcaret in the Riviera Maya.

This resort is beautiful, authentic and unique. This is not your average all-inclusive resort. This is an experience that will impress you at every turn.

Resort Summary

Hotel Xcaret México is an exclusive resort where you will experience a stay like no other. The eco-integrator design of Hotel Xcaret México carefully and responsibly adapts the architecture to the landscape. Coves, rivers, caves and forests are located all over the resort, where everything flows with the principle of sustainability.

My Beautiful Suite

The suites at Hotel Xcaret are amazing. I had a view of the River, which I highly recommend. Who wouldn’t want to relax in this hammock? And bonus…there is a 2nd hammock on the balcony!

There are so many authentic touches within the room. The embroidered art is made in Mexico and takes one year to make. The tiles in the shower are hand-painted. The furniture is also made in Mexico.

This room was designed for today’s travelers in mind. I’ve never seen so many USB ports in one room! I think I counted 12, but there may have been more. I also loved the different lighting modes, especially the ‘night’ mode that lights a path to the bathroom.

They also spare nothing when it comes to bathroom amenities and minibar treats!

Natural Beauty at Every Turn

It took nine years to develop this property. The resort opened in December and typically a newer resort isn’t very lush because the landscaping is new and needs to mature. Not at Hotel Xcaret. This resort looks like it has been open for years. It’s truly the most beautiful resort I’ve visited. The river that flows through the property is so unique. I swam in the river and it was so fun seeing all the nooks and caves around every turn. There is even a waterslide built into the cliff!

Beautiful Pools and Buildings

Hotel Xcaret is a large property with about 900 rooms, but it is laid out very well. There are a lot of pools throughout the property. From family-friendly to rooftop adults-only to infinity pools with swim-up bars….there is a pool for everyone!

Delicious Food and Drink

I sadly only got to spend 24 hours at Hotel Xcaret but I was very impressed by the food and drinks. Everything I ate was delicious. I asked the bartender to surprise me with a drink and he made an amazing gin cocktail with a rosemary sprig in it. At dinner, our waiter made sure our wine glasses were never empty. He also brought us things we didn’t order because he thought we should try them. At lunch, the waiter asked if we wanted dessert. We weren’t sure so he just brought us a dessert sampler platter. They also had carts set up throughout the property serving tacos, Mexican street corn (elote), ceviche and more.

Authentic Touches and Attention to Detail

I absolutely loved all the authentic decor found throughout the property, all the way down to the coasters. This is not one of those plane-jane resorts that could be anywhere. This resort is authentic Mexico, which is reflected through both the decor and the warm hospitality.

The Chapel and the Spa

Every resort has a spa, but the spa at Hotel Xcaret is unique. Not every resort has a chapel and if they do, it’s definitely not like the chapel here. Wow! Just imagine getting married in this venue. Breathtaking!

Who Would Enjoy Hotel Xcaret?

It is unusual for an all-inclusive resort to appeal to a wide range of travelers. I think Hotel Xcaret is one of those rare exceptions. This is a family-friendly resort and we saw children of all ages throughout the property. They also have adults-only buildings, one of which includes an exclusive restaurant and rooftop pool. Since the property is large we were able to find lots of quiet spots to relax.

If you like to be pampered, you can’t go wrong with an upgraded room at Hotel Xcaret because they include butler service. My butler Erick was amazing and was there to unpack my bags, fill my bubble bath, make dinner reservations, give me a tour of the resort and make park reservations.

We know many people get bored easily and an all-inclusive resort is not their ideal vacation. However, with the inclusion of the parks, it’s impossible to be bored. Let’s talk a little more about those park inclusions.

Let’s talk about value. Hotel Xcaret includes unlimited admission to all six of their ecological parks, as well as four tours. Here are some highlights of these parks and tours:

• Traditional Mexican fiestas
• Chichén Itzá tours

Your stay includes all this and more. Transportation is also included, departing every 30 minutes. Your wristband is both your key to your room and your admission to the parks. You can even take a leisurely boat ride in the river to get to Xcaret Park.

In summary, I rate Hotel Xcaret 5 out of 5. It is an amazing, authentic experience. I’m so excited to introduce my clients to this resort.
