An all-inclusive resort vacation is the ultimate stress-free way to travel. In fact, the most difficult part of your all-inclusive vacation will likely be deciding WHERE to go.

Here are 5 tips to help you plan your next getaway.

STEP 1: Decide WHO Is Going

The first step is figuring out who is going on this vacation. Will it be a family vacation with the kids and maybe even the grandparents? Is this just a romantic getaway for the two of you? Or maybe you’re planning a party trip with your friends.

The makeup of your travel party will definitely influence your choice of destination and resort.

STEP 2: Decide WHEN To Go

When do you want to travel? The time of year you travel should always be taken into consideration when planning your all-inclusive vacation. Is it hurricane season? Is it during high demand times such as festive season or spring break? If you’re traveling during the low season, are there flights available to your destination? Many airlines cut routes in the Fall months, making it difficult to reach certain islands.

STEP 3: WHAT Do You Want To Do?

Close your eyes and envision this vacation. What does a typical day entail? Do you want to do a lot of activities off property? Is the main goal to chill on the beach with a frosty beverage? Is the top priority letting loose with your friends? Do you love going to nice restaurants and trying new foods? Do you want to be pampered with unlimited spa treatments and butler service?

Really think about what you want out of this particular vacation. Your desired resort experience will likely eliminate the vast majority of options, leaving you with just a few that are perfectly tailored to your preferences.

STEP 4: Figure Out HOW MUCH You’re Comfortable Spending

One of the top questions I get is “how much does an all-inclusive vacation cost?” In fact, I wrote an entire blog about it. There is no specific answer since so many things factor into the cost such as time of year, destination and quality of resort.

So I think a good starting point is coming up with an amount that you’re comfortable spending for this particular vacation. Depending on the occasion, sometimes I’ll splurge and spend a lot…other times I go the budget-friendly route. There’s no wrong answer, but I always have an amount in mind as the absolute maximum that I’m willing to pay.

And the good news is that all-inclusive resort vacations can offer a fantastic bang for your buck!

STEP 5: CHOOSE Your Destination and Resort

That’s right…figuring out where to go is the LAST step. So often people think they want to go to a particular island, but their answers to the first 4 questions are clearly more in line with another great destination.
