It’s time for a destination wedding review Q&A session! I love getting this feedback from my clients after they’ve returned from their destination wedding. They also have great advice to share with future couples!

This blog features Kate & Tyler, who got married at the amazing all-inclusive Hard Rock Los Cabos resort.

WEDDING & RESORT QUESTIONS

What were the deciding factors for choosing Hard Rock Los Cabos?

Hard Rock Los Cabos was strongly recommended by Kathryn, our travel agent. She had great experiences at Hard Rock Hotels in the past and assured us that this new resort would be fantastic.

What were some of your biggest fears about having a destination wedding?

All vital luggage making it to the destination. Guests being able to book the wedding. Guests being able to navigate the airport and to the resort. Total cost to us. Total cost to our guests. 

How was your experience working with the wedding coordinator at the resort? Were there any challenges? Did they excel in certain areas?

Cannot say enough positive things about Joss & Aurea, our on-site coordinators at Hard Rock. They were just fantastic through all phases of planning once we arrived there. No challenges whatsoever. 

Tell me about your wedding. Where was it? Did you have a cocktail hour & reception? What were those like? 

Our wedding itself was spectacular. We had the cocktail hour at Coda Garden. Our wedding ceremony was at Tune Terrace. Our reception was at Eden Terrace. 

The ceremony was beautifully set up and looked gorgeous on our wedding day. We thought that Tune Terrace was perfect for our group size of ~40, but it could certainly accommodate a much larger number of guests we think. The view at sunset was gorgeous and our pictures look incredible. 

Cocktail hour at Coda Garden was also beautiful. The grassy area and slightly secluded area made it feel a little more relaxed and personal to our guests. 

Eden Terrace was awesome for the reception. Again, kind of secluded so we felt as if we had the entire resort to ourselves. 

Did you splurge on anything wedding-related & would you do it again?

We splurged a little bit on the photography & videography packages. The photos were 100% worth the extra money that we paid. We have not yet seen the video, but we anticipate it will be great as well. 

Is there anything you splurged on that wasn’t worth it?

Anything you would do differently or advice you’ve give to other couples planning a destination wedding?

We would recommend to any and all of our friends to do a destination wedding. The ability to spend multiple days with your guests instead of a few minutes was so much fun. It does take a little more planning than we expected, but was worth it across all areas for us. 

We weren’t the most prompt about getting some of our choices returned to the resort. In the end, that didn’t end up mattering at all/didn’t hurt us…but I think to do it all over again would have saved us from some unneeded stress. 

It was challenging to communicate with everyone at times. While we liked to think that updating our wedding website with changes was enough, we would recommend still sending hard copies in the mail to all guests. 

What kind of feedback did you get from your guests? This could be about the resort, the wedding, or KP Travel Group.

All positive reviews from our guests. They all much enjoyed the little vacation at the start of winter. Everyone thought the resort was fantastic and appreciated the 50% capacity cap in light of COVID. Multiple people commented that it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever attended. The feedback on KP Travel Group was nothing short of exceptional. Kathryn was extremely helpful, prompt, and knowledgeable about anything and everything related to Cabo, traveling, etc. We have used KP Travel Group twice now and will continue to do so in the future.

In what ways did KP Travel Group make planning this wedding less stressful for you?

Honest, prompt answers from Kathryn. Kathryn was also extremely patient with Kate & I’s busy schedules. Kathryn also did a lot of behind-the-scenes coordinating that saved us a lot of headaches once we got to Mexico.

Without a doubt! We cannot say enough positive things about KP Travel Group. Honestly one of the best decisions we made through the entire wedding process. 

What is the most important thing people should know about working with me?

That you are tremendously knowledgeable about each resort that you book trips to and that, oftentimes, you have personally been there and can answer many things about the safety, ease of travel, and even negatives to each resort.
